US citizen released in Peshawar

Peshawar: The US citizen William Charleswho was arrested from Peshawar airport after Airport Security Force (ASF) found17 rounds of 9mm in his custody has been handed over to US Consulate.

Police said the detainee was an an employee of US Consulate, enjoying diplomatic immunity against any lawsuit.

Mr Charles was arrested while travelling to Islamabad via PIA flight PK-218 and shifted to Cantonment Police Station. Shortly after his arrest US Consulate was contacted to prove the statement of Charles of being a diplomat.
