UAE, Qatar stop trade finance to Iran over sanctions

The central banks of UAE and Qatar have told lenders to stop financing trade withIran, bankers said on Thursday, cutting another source of credit for a country struggling under Western economic sanctions imposed over its nuclear programme.
The Gulf has a long history of trade with Iran, especially in Dubai where there is a large Iranian trading community, and Gulf banks had been expected to fill a funding gap for the import of grains left by European lenders banned from financing trade by EU sanctions.
"Banks in Dubai were asked by the UAE central bank to stop issuing letters of credit to finance trade with Iran. Before the sanctions, the central bank regularly checked on trading with Iran and wanted to know of all dealings between the two countries," said a Dubai-based banker active in trade financing.
"Banks can't do this anymore."
About 8,000 Iranian traders are registered in Dubai, and re-export trade between Iran and the UAE totalled 19.5 billion dirhams ($5.32 billion) in the first half of 2011, according to the latest figures from United Arab Emirates' customs authority.
Qatar's central bank also recently told banks to stop providing credit for Iranian trade, according to a senior Doha-based banker.
Iran is struggling under the weight of sanctions. Its currency, the rial, has depreciated, there has been a run on its banks and inflation is rising, U.S. intelligence chiefs have said.
The United States imposed the harshest sanctions so far on Iran, banning transactions involving Iran's central bank, and the European Union has banned the import, purchase or transport of Iranian oil, cutting off its main foreign currency earner.
The 27-member bloc also agreed in January to freeze the assets of Iran's central bank to try to persuade Iran to stop its nuclear programme, which the West says is aimed at producing an atomic weapon.
Iran denies the charge.
The sanctions, which Western powers say are aimed only at the Iranian administration, may be having unexpected consequences.
SHIPMENTS STOP
Iran is heavily dependent on grain imports for animal feed, but some 10 ships have been unable to deliver grain to Iran for more than three weeks after banks refused to process payments, or offer loans to, Iranian buyers.
On Thursday, up to five of those vessels may have been diverted to new destinations, ship tracking data showed.
]
The United Arab Emirates' central bank ordered financial institutions two years ago to freeze Iran-linked accounts belonging to firms targeted by United Nations sanctions.
In Bahrain, which has traditionally had more limited trade ties with Iran, there have been no guidelines.
"Business with Iranians flourished in the past but Bahrain was never a trading hub like Dubai," one senior banker said. "Financing export of goods through the ports wasn't really a prime line of business."
Iranian trade with Dubai has flowed for decades, plied by wooden dhows carrying household goods and basic commodities such as grain, rice and sugar.
"Historically, grain came to Dubai from South America, mainly Argentina, the USA and EU, mainly France and then re-exported from Dubai to Iran," said the Dubai-based banker.

Taliban deny talks with Afghan govt

The Taliban have scotched reports they have planned direct peace talks with the Afghan government.
Rumours have swirled for days that President Hamid Karzai's government was seeking direct talks, to be held in Saudi Arabia, in an effort to take charge of the peace effort that has so far been dominated by American efforts and talks with Taliban representatives.
A statement on Wednesday from Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid rejected those reports as 'baseless.'
He also noted that exploratory talks between the insurgency and the US-led international military coalition in Afghanistan have not yet reached the stage for negotiations.
'Before the negotiation phase, there should be trust-building between the sides, which has not started yet,' Mujahid said.
The Taliban have so far expressed willingness only to talk with the US, calling the Afghan government a puppet regime. Washington insists it is only setting the stage, and any eventual talks must involve Karzai's government.
US intelligence officials acknowledged on Tuesday that the United States may release several Afghan Taliban prisoners from the military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, as an incentive to bring the Taliban to peace talks.
Director of National Intelligence Jim Clapper told Congress on Tuesday that no decision had been made whether to trade the five Taliban prisoners, now held at Guantanamo Bay, as part of the nascent peace talks with the Taliban. He and CIA Director David Petraeus did not dispute that the Obama administration was considering transferring the five to a third country.
Who will lead any future peace negotiations has become a major concern. Karzai has reportedly felt sidelined by the US effort.
Afghanistan's own moves toward talks with the Taliban stalled after an ex-president heading the High Peace Council spearheading the effort was assassinated by a bomber claiming to have a message from the insurgents.
That killing damaged relations between Afghanistan and neighbouring Pakistan after Kabul blamed insurgents based over the Pakistani border for the killing.
Pakistan's foreign minister, Hina Rabbani Khar, visited Kabul on Wednesday to mend relations and insisted her country has no hidden agenda in Afghanistan. Khar said Pakistan will back a peace process with the Taliban as long as it's driven by Afghans and not other figures on the international stage.
'Pakistan wants peace and stability in Afghanistan, and contrary to the hypotheses that do the rounds the world over, Pakistan prefers and considers it vital to have a stable Afghanistan,' she said.
'Our only prerequisite to be supportive of an initiative is that it should be Afghan-led, it should be Afghan-owned, it should be Afghan-driven and Afghan-backed.'
Khar's visit coincided with the leak of a classified NATO report saying that Taliban and its allied insurgents get support from Pakistan.
The US-led military coalition in Afghanistan said on Wednesday that an Afghan soldier shot and killed a NATO service member in southern Afghanistan in what the coalition described as an attack and an Afghan commander called an accident.
It was the sixth report since December 26 of an Afghan soldier turning his weapon on the international troops working to train the Afghan security forces. The string of attacks has raised concerns about relations between Afghan troops and their foreign allies.
The rising number of attacks by supposed friendly Afghan forces has prompted speculation that Taliban insurgents or sympathisers may be infiltrating national army and police as they rapidly expand to meet the 2014 target for Afghan forces to take over security and most international troops to leave.
There have been at least 35 attacks on international troops since 2007 by Afghan soldiers, police or insurgents wearing their uniforms, according to a tally by The Associated Press. The number rose sharply last year to 17, up from six in 2010.
Tuesday's killing brought to 34 the number of international troops killed in Afghanistan this year.

Azan inspires Hollywood actor Liam Neeson to convert to Islam

ISTANBUL (Turkey), 9 Rabi Al-Awwal/1 Feb (IINA)-Hollywood actor Liam Neeson has announced that he may convert to Islam as he was inspired by Islamic call to prayer (Azan) while filming in Istanbul, Turkey, media reports quoted the actor as saying on Monday.
He was ranked at number 69 on Empire magazine’s 100 greatest movie stars of all time in 1997.
Neeson, 59,   is an Irish actor, who has been nominated for an Oscar, a BAFTA and three Golden Globe Awards. He has starred in a number of notable roles including Oskar Schindler in Schindler’s List, Michael Collins in Michael Collins, Peyton Westlake in Darkman, Jean Valjean in Les Misérables, Qui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars (the film Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace and an episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Alfred Kinsey in Kinsey, Ra’s al Ghul in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight Rises as well as the voice of Aslan in The Chronicles of Narnia film series.
“There are 4000 mosques in the city (Istanbul) – some are just stunning, and it really makes me think about becoming a Muslim,” he said.
“The call to prayer happens five times a day, and for the first week, it drives you crazy, and then it just gets into your spirit, and it’s the most beautiful thing.” Neeson, a Roman Catholic, said he had always been religious and was always questioning the meaning of life.
“It’s a very good thing and it shows people it’s not a religion to be scared about or frightened about, and that it’s a religion that people are interested in and are attracted to, and when you’ve got someone like that attracted to it, they might think `maybe there is something in this religion’,” he said.

Dairyland Surprise: Wisconsin celebrates Miss America

Miss Wisconsin Laura Kaeppeler of Kenosha waves after being crowned Miss America on Saturday night at The Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. / AP

Laura Kaeppeler didn't know she would cry. Otherwise, she would have used waterproof mascara. When the 23-year-old Kenosha native was crowned Miss America last weekend — becoming only the second Miss Wisconsin to win in the pageant's 91-year history — tears flowed and so did her mascara.
"Of course I realized I didn't wear waterproof mascara until after the fact. But it made that moment very real ...," Kaeppeler said.
Kaeppeler is much more than makeup, or evening gowns or swimsuits, though the Miss America pageant is certainly all those things, too. She is a poised, smart Carthage College graduate who won a preliminary talent portion of the competition by singing an Italian art song.
She's a Packers fan who jokingly told Aaron Rodgers on TV to call her.
And her platform, the issue that she made a part of her pageant campaign, was to be an advocate for children of incarcerated parents. It's a painful issue that's close to her because Kaeppeler's father was convicted of mail fraud and sentenced to federal prison while she was a teenager.
She plans to use the $50,000 in scholarship money to earn a law degree. But law school will have to wait a year. Meanwhile, she's got a full calendar.
"It's been a lot of craziness," said Kaeppeler, as she reeled off a lengthy list for her first week with the title that included numerous media interviews and a flight to New York. "Life has just been instantly changed."
Perhaps the only Wisconsinite who knows what's in store for Kaeppeler is the only other Miss America to hail from the Badger State. Terry Meeuwsen won the title in 1973 and remembers her younger brothers telling her about all of the cars driving by their De Pere home honking their horns the night she won.
De Pere put up a huge sign at the city limits heralding the community as the home of Miss America and when Meeuwsen brought her future husband home to meet her family, "we were about 10 miles out and I said, 'I need to tell you about something that's coming up on the right.'"

Kajal Agarwal shows interest in doing a film like Charles Angels

Charming girl Kajal Agarwal wants to do more than a sword-wielding princess' role that she did in Magadheera.  She wants to go the full hog on donning a girl who brandishes the rapier in style.  Yes, she wants to do a Charles Angles role if that ever comes her way.  She said this at a press meet held in Hyderabad yesterday.
Even as she made a bold wish known to the world, Kajal preferred not to talk about the smooching scene in Businessman.  "I don't want to talk much about that.  The scene was infused in the movie as per the need of the script" she shot back.
Kajal is totally in love with Mahesh's dekko acting performance in Businessman.  Saying that she was happy to have acted with him, the actress said she would like to see none but Mahesh in the Hindi remake as well.  "I can't imagine anyone else in the role."
She had compliments for Puri Jagannadh.  "He made me portray both love and hate in the character."

Little genius Star Arfa Karim , daughter of Pakistan

Born in Faisalabad, Pakistan, the little Arfa Karim was only 5 when she first came across these strange white “boxes” in her school which later she knew were computers. “When you push a button, something magically appears on the box” said Arfa.
After she persuaded her father to buy her one, Amjad Karim –who serves with a U.N. peace making force in Africa, began to notice his young daughter’s extraordinary “technical” talent, that’s when he convinced APTECH –an advanced computer institute near their home- to enroll her as a student for she was still too young to apply.
In 2005, the people at the institute amazed with her unique aptitude, informed her father that Arfa might actually be in a position to seek Microsoft certification; and after only four months of hard work and dedicated study –over summer- the little girl genius passed the exam for developing Windows applications! A process that would’ve normally taken a year to accomplish.
Being the youngest person to ever obtain this certification –Arfa was certified at only 9 years of age- she got the chance to fly to the USA and meet Mr. Gates himself.
Arfa took the Microsoft people there by surprise with her wit, intelligence, and even audacity.
During her one-on-one with Bill Gates, she talked about lots of things, asked him many questions, such as why there weren’t much women working at the company, she thought the number of male and female employees should be equaled , she also asked him why they wouldn’t hire someone her age. She also made no secret she was surprised with the dress code there as she thought they’d all be in suits, and dropped the bare truth that meeting Gates fallen only second to Disneyland on her list of the things she wanted to see in America.
Following that encounter, Arfa was regarded as a celebrity in Pakistan and was held as an icon and a role model! Pakistanis celebrated her everywhere, and took pride of her.
Arfa expressed her dream of going to Harvard University or MIT to complete her studies in order to become a developer or a satellite engineer.
Unfortunately, the little genius won’t be able to fulfill her dream, for Arfa Karim, Pakistan’s pride, died at the tender age of 16 after an epileptic seizure that left her in a coma back in December, and eventually led to a cardiac arrest in early January that sent her soul to heavens.
Arfa karim may be gone, but never forgotten. May god rest her soul!

Wikipedia Going Dark to Protest SOPA

Wikipedia will go offline Wednesday to protest the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), according to Co-Founder Jimmy Wales. Wales made the announcement via a series of tweets. “This is going to be wow,” reads one tweet. “I hope Wikipedia will melt phone systems in Washington on Wednesday. Tell everyone you know!”

Wales has been mulling the idea of a blackout on his user talk page. Wikipedia joins other major websites, such as Reddit, where a very active anti-SOPA community exists. Wales tweeted that the decision was made by community consensus among Wikipedia users:

According to another tweet by Wales, Wikipedia English receives approximately 25 million visitors every day. Wikipedia’s decision means those millions of visitors will be greeted not with the usual digital tome of knowledge, but with a screen explaining the company’s stance on the bill and information on how to take action against SOPA. The blackout will only effect the English language page.
“Student warning! Do your homework early,” joked Wales in another tweet. “Wikipedia protesting bad law on Wednesday!”

Late last week, the authors of both SOPA and the Protect IP Act (PIPA) announced they would be removing the DNS blocking provisions from both bills. The DNS acts as a kind of “phone book” for the Internet, and many in the tech community warned that interfering with DNS would have catastrophic consequences for the stability and security of the Internet.
However, many – including Wales – have responded with a whole-hearted “that’s not good enough.” An anti-SOPA Twitter, tweeted today that “closing a global business in reaction to single-issue national politics is foolish,” perhaps an indication that Twitter will not be following in the footsteps of Wikipedia and Reddit.
Meanwhile, Rupert Murdoch, CEO of News Corporation, went on a Twitter diatribe lambasting the Obama administration for failing to support SOPA.
Do you think Wikipedia made the right choice? Let us know in the comments below.

Shilpa's dress causes international stir

While most Indian fashion designers would maintain that our traditional garment, the sari, is one of the best known Indian outfits on the international fashion scene, when a UK tabloid called an anarkali suit a sari recently, the readers took no time to show their umbrage online.

On Friday, Daily Mail carried an article on Bollywood actor and ex Big Brother winner, Shilpa Shetty, making her first post pregnancy appearance. While the actor wore an off white and red anarkali suit with a duppatta, the report called the garment a sari; apparently failing to recognise the Indian outfit. ‘Shilpa Shetty’s sari shows off her baby bump’, read the headline. Soon enough, people started posting comments on the tabloid website about the faux pas.

“That’s not a sari. It’s called an Anarkali,” posted ZB from India. Another comment, posted by Zak, read, “Its Not a sari it’s a freakin anarkali dress (sic).” Indian designers feel that at a time when a global fashion giant like Hermes has come up with an exclusive sari collection and designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier have done their interpretation of the sari, such ignorance is amusing.

“While sari is a garment that fascinates the west, it’s sad that not many know about it still,” says designer Ritu Kumar.

Chavi Taneja, a design student in Delhi says, “Westerners may get confused between an anarkali and a churidaar, but a sari has been worn by many global celebs.”

However, designer Anand Bhushan says, “Even we may not be able to tell an abaya from a burqa. So, we shouldn’t feel hurt. After all, Hermes did a whole sari collection. What bigger compliment do we need?"

  2. Dark colors make you look taller, but that doesn’t mean you should always choose black for yourself. One of the Pakistani style ideas which you can apply to yourself if getting your shirt dyed in two tones of the same color for example: the upper half of the shirt in bottle green and the lower half as light green. This is one of the style tips for womenwhich make them look tall.
  3. You can also try wearing a short length jacket on your shirt when you are wearing jeans, this is another one of good fashion tips for petite women.
  4. Avoid wearing horizontal lines or prints; they will make you look shorter and broader according to style tips for women.
  5. As far as Pakistani style tips for petite women wear are concerned, try wearing shorter sleeves, v-neck shirts, choori dar pajamas (or skinny jeans) to make you look elongated.
  • Fashion Tips for Tall Women:

Pakistani style tips for rectangular shapes give a wider variety to boyish shaped women. You can always go for high necks or turtle necks to make your upper half look fuller. Fabric that clings to your body is exactly right for rectangular women. Pakistani style ideas also encourage pleats, frills and short sleeves to give you a more feminine look. Flairs, flowy fabrics, Maxi cuts are the right style tips for women

Internet advocacy: Blogs in Pakistan – no more a silent revolution

PTI chief Imran Khan, who made a surprise appearance at the Pakistan Blog awards held in Karachi, said bloggers are part of a revolution. PHOTO: SIDRAH MOIZ KHAN

KARACHI:  To the audience’s delight, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan made a surprise entrance at the second Pakistan Blog Awards that kicked off Friday evening at the Regent Plaza hotel.
Acknowledging bloggers in Pakistan, Imran said that a silent revolution is building up in Pakistan and that the bloggers are a vital part of the revolution.
“Political class is in a state of shock due to this revolution,” the PTI chief said. Stand-up comedian Sami Shah had his reservations about Imran’s presence, saying, “It turned political all of a sudden”. However, Shah said that the event was a positive step.
The awards were attended by prominent, as well as the not-so-prominent faces of the Pakistani blogosphere and cyberspace. The popular opinion remained that the blogosphere has shown an exponential growth.
“This year around, it is great,” blogger Sana Saleem said. “You can gauge the importance of media from the fact that almost every news organisation’s website has a blog now,” she added.
Applause roared across the hall, which housed around 300 people, as Rabia Gharib, the host for the event started to announce the winners.
“Each nomination represents a different hue of Pakistan,” Gharib said.
“The environment is electric,” remarked CEO P@sha Jehan Ara. “Blogs are definitely going to go a long way.”
Jehan Ara, who began blogging a few years back, said that there were about 25 blog nominations in every category.
However, prominent talk-show host Faisal Qureshi said, “Pakistani blogs have quantity, but don’t have quality. We are a nation of complainers, not advocacy. We should be more responsible about our content,” he added.
“Internet usage is converging in Pakistan, which is helping new and social media,” said Badar Khushnood, the Google Pakistan’s country consultant. “There is always a certain level of noise and hype, but in my belief, blogs have done a lot of good to citizen journalism.”

Not giving Gold Medals in KU Annual convocation 2011 -A very good Decision

Karachi: University of Karachi held a Annual Convocation 2011 on 17 December 2011 at Valika Ground.Students, who have taken degrees of BS in the relevant subjects staged protest during the Convocation Ceremony 2011 against the neglecting by the administration.
Its a very good decision by KU Administration to not giving gold medals to the position holders because everyone knows how they got positions in their respective discipline. Karachi University administration said that due to unavailability of sponsors we are unable to give gold medals to position holders. The main cause behind no interest of sponsors in giving sponsorship for gold medal might be they knows about checking system in KU.They have seen that what KU's gold medalist do in market after passing out.

Its a common belief in KU that if any teacher got angry or student just argue, misbehave on any lecture matter or point, the teacher will definitely took revenge by giving him low marks as compare to his class fellows even the student gave a perfect answers  on sheet. If you want good marks in any subject, all you have to do is to curry favor of your teacher.Even in the morning,You will have to admit it as evening if your teacher called morning as evening. If you succeed in to happy your teacher as compare to your mates, you will definitely got highest marks even you left empty copy. The student who does not care about these things & just focuses on his studies gets average marks. You can't even claim on any result if your teacher failed you or give you low marks, you have to write an application to your DEAN & CHAIRMAN but like all government institution your application will not effect anything and will disappear soon.
BS program starts with controversially as the administration has no plan what they have to do and what not. They even have not give GP(Grade point) to 1st BS batch which passed out recently. Their is lack of professional teachers in BS Program. Departments cover this by outsourcing and sometimes they called their recent master students for teaching their BS batch.Outsource professor founds sometimes unavailable and took few classes, no one can ask them.On other hand inexperience teacher can give limited information as experienced professor can share his experience with students and can teach well. But senior teachers are remained very few in KU.Many have resigned due to threatening from students political parties in Karachi University.
The major problem of BS program which administration recently solved was market is not recognizing it as old Master degree. The name changed like  earlier you have to enroll for 3 years graduation program and than for 1 year master or 2 years bachelor and 2 year master, in short in past 16 years of education consider as masters degree but HEC starts in 2007 that every institution affiliated with it will have to start 4 Year BS  program. But it came out in controversial when students passed out in 2010 & started searching jobs but market asked them for a masters degree and give jobs to 2 years bachelor and 2 years master holder candidate.KU now has given offer to students whether they want to took 3 years bachelor and 1 years master or 4 years BS.This is the fault of HEC and universities that they should aware the market about their BS Program.

The main reason of no sponsorship in Convocation is the failure of BS Program.KU administration should make strict action and make it possible that their should be clear & fair teaching and checking of examination copies that we can get good graduates and masters in future. The graduates should be "GOLDEN" not Gold lover. The main complain from companies ,enterprises, banks & other industries is that they want golden product for running their business on a successful path but when they took interview of Gold Medalist they even don't know basics about their discipline and when the interviewer asks him how he got gold medal if he does not knows basics than the answer comes from him that the teachers didn't taught us that things or teacher of that subject didn't took classes properly.
If the gold medalist will not perform well in the market than how come we expect from anyone to Sponsor further graduates from University of Karachi.Administration should consider all these facts and make it possible that we will produce quality of graduates not in Quantity.

Veena Malik goes missing from Mumbai - ZEE NEWS

MUMBAI: After courting severe backlash for her controversial photo shoot with FHM magazine, starlet Veena Malik has mysteriously gone missing from her Mumbai residence.

Apparently, Veena’s business manager Prateik Mehta and filmmaker Hemant Madhukar revealed that Veena is untraceable since the morning of December 16. Veena was shooting for a horror flick ‘Mumbai 125 kilometres’ in Goregoan (West) before disappearing.

Talking to a daily, Hemant said, “Veena, without giving her last shot at 5 am for my film ‘Mumbai 125 kilometres’, suddenly disappeared from her vanity van. Her mobile too was not reachable I assumed that the actress was tired and left for home.”

However, Hemant received an SMS from Veena, which disclosed that the actress was depressed and unwell. After almost twelve hours of the incident, Prateik and Hemant discovered that Veena was missing.

“Today we had a couple of shots with Veena but I realised that her phones are still switched off and she has also not communicated with her manager since then which is indeed serious. Veena normally is very chirpy and full of life on the sets but from past few days she looked depressed. Hope she is fine.” added Hemant.

Hemant and Veena’s manager have approached the local Bandra Police to help them find Veena Malik.

India uranium sales 'unique': Australia

Islamabad- humari news Australia’s Defence Minister Stephen Smith said India represented a “unique” case for uranium sales Thursday and denied that lifting its export ban to New Delhi opened the door to countries like Pakistan.
The ruling centre-left Labor party voted to overturn its long-standing ban on uranium sales to India at its national policy summit last weekend despite the fact that it was still not a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty.
Smith, on an official visit to India, said the decision had been “warmly welcomed” but rebuffed suggestions that Pakistan may want a similar arrangement.
“The circumstances for India so far as export of uranium is concerned are, in my view, unique,” Smith told ABC television from India.
“Pakistan does not have the same record so far as proliferation is concerned. There have been serious expressions of concern about proliferation in the past.”
Though India had not signed the NPT — Labor’s rationale for withholding sales until the weekend’s policy u-turn — Smith said it had agreed to split its civilian and military nuclear programmes and vowed not to engage in atomic tests.
It had also submitted to the authority of civil nuclear regulators.
“India is the world’s largest democracy. There’s never been any serious suggestion or any evidence of proliferation on India’s part,” he said.
He described the ban as “an irritant or a grain of sand in the relationship (that) is now gone” and said he and Indian officials had agreed that they could and should do more to to boost strategic cooperation.
“The whole world is moving to the Asia Pacific and the Indian Ocean, and India is very much a central part of that,” he said.
Smith said he had also discussed the recent announcement of a US troop boost in northern Australia with Indian counterpart A.K Antony and he understood that “Australia has an alliance relationship with the United States.
“India also understands that Australia has a strong view that the engagement of the United States in the Asia Pacific, indeed the enhanced engagement of the United States in the Asia Pacific, is a good thing for peace, prosperity and stability,” Smith said.
Australia describes India — its fourth-largest export market — as at the “front rank” of its global partnerships and aims to strengthen ties beyond economic and trade links into areas such as defence and security.

Boneless BONN conference started in Germany without its bone Pakistan

Afghan Foreign Minister Salmai Rassul, Afghan President Hamid Karzai, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle (L-R) pose for a picture at the International Afghanistan Conference in Bonn, December 5, 2011. — Photo by Routers
BONN: BONN Conference started in Germany without their Prime member country Pakistan.Germany’s foreign minister on Monday opened a major conference on Afghanistan’s future, vowing that the international community won’t abandon the country after Nato combat troops pull out in 2014.
“The goal of this conference will be to lay the groundwork for a free, secure and prosperous Afghanistan,” Guido Westerwelle told about 1,000 delegates from around the world gathered in the western city of Bonn.
Pakistan was seeming to be very important for this conference but due to NATO attack on Pakistan's tribal area Pakistan boycotted  this conference as a protest.

The involvement of Pakistan in this conference do not matter anything as USA is doing what it likes, it never consider Pakistan's suggestions on Afghanistan issue.USA always treated Pakistan as its slave not as its alliance. So participation of Pakistan in this conference will not affect directly but there is also have some negative impacts which can raised questions on credibility and importance of decisions made during this conference as one of the country whose contributed lot during Afghan war and who is also its major neighbor country is not participating in the conference.

NATO attacks on Pakistan can be raise a question that may be it is possible that cause behind NATO attack can be to rid Pakistan from BONN conference and during conference NATO countries are planning some thing against Pakistan so they make Pakistan away from the conference and also wanting to kick Pakistan from their alliance.

Their is also some news in the circle that NATO is going to attack Pakistan's tribal areas for searching Taliban commandos. So it'll definitely increase tension among Pakistan and USA as COAS Kiyani said that he has allowed border forces to take immediate action on any attack from NATO forces.

Pakistan seems to be Bone in the US alliance and kicking Pakistan from alliance could be danger for USA as their is two ways for NATO supplies for their equipments and other stuffs. One is from Pakistan but they have now tension with it and second is through Russia but Russia didn't forget 1980's Soviet Afghan war when USA helps Pakistan to break Russian federation into tiny parts. So Russia is also don't want to leave this opportunity.

So if USA lost the war and starts exit from Afghanistan in upcoming years with broken hands they will be 2nd Super power who 'll defeated by PAKISTAN.So they can't took Pakistan as a "Piece of Cake" as it can be cause them as a "Piece of Rock" which can break their teeth.

Judaism and Islam side by side

On Sunday night, the fashion collective Three as Four opened its highly anticipated exhibition “Insalaam Inshalom” at the Beit Ha’Ir Center for Urban Culture in Tel Aviv, bringing to fruition a project over two years in the making. Covering the walls of the four-story building in fabric printed with their spring collection’s central motifs, which are made of a mix of Muslim and Jewish symbols, the designers Gabi Asfour, Adi Gil and Ange Donhauser invited 10 artists to show works that relate to the project’s central notion: that Judaism and Islam can live side by side. “We’ve accumulated the energy of artists and performers who are like-minded,” Asfour said. “We tried to balance things from all sides, though it’s always difficult.”
Featured in the show are pieces by Yoko Ono, Joseph Dadoune and Jessica Mitrani, to name a few. Installations, video works, textiles and photography are among the works on display throughout the center’s “Insalaam Inshalom”-patterned walls. The performers at Sunday’s event included the Cyprus-born, New York-based director/choreographer Maria Hassabi, who wore cotton overalls from the Three as Four collection. Carrying a rolled-up rug on her slight frame, she slowly made her way down a flight of stairs into a cramped performance area, stopping every few seconds in different sculptural positions. Having arrived, she released the rug behind her back and wrapped herself in it as in a cape. At other moments she lay on it as well as under it as if it were a blanket.
As usual, Three as Four opted for a less formal fashion show, with a backgammon board acting as a centerpiece onstage, with mannequins dressed in pieces from the collection positioned around it. Models entered the central space to stand between the forms, then took turns walking over to a low table, sitting down, rolling the dice and moving the pieces of the board game. After each turn, one model would get up and take the place of another — a collective game of musical chairs.
“Fashion and beauty are tools to promote togetherness and unity in different countries and cultures,” Gil said. “We hope we can inspire other people to work together and not be scared of working together.”
The fashion collective’s members are themselves products of multiple cultures and identities: Asfour was born to parents from Mandate-era Haifa, who fled to Beirut; Gil was born and raised in Israel before moving to Germany and then New York; and Donhauser is a Soviet-born Russian-German who moved to Germany in childhood. Donhauser met Gil in Germany, and they met Asfour in New York, where they had moved to seek a more culturally diverse setting.
“I’m the middleman in the Middle East,” joked Donhauser, who adds that she’s glad she finally made it to Tel Aviv. “I’m closer to understanding how meshugeneh it all is. You shake your head and say: It’s all so human after all.”
